Precision pole setting, controlled by a single operator

By allowing a single operator to grip, rotate, and set poles remotely, the PM1000 pipe and pole grapple improves predictability on every lift while reducing crew exposure around suspended loads. The result is faster installs, cleaner alignment, and safer jobsites.

PM1000

What it delivers

Safer jobsites

No need for manual guidance, keeping ground crews away from suspended loads.

Total control

Rotate the pole 360° while firmly gripped for precise alignment without moving the crane.

Faster installation

Fewer handling steps, less re-rigging and precise positioning on the first attempt.

How it works

Grip it. Spin it. Set it.

The PM1000 allows a single operator to pick up poles horizontally, bring them upright and position them using the crane's controls. Its integrated, belt-driven Pole Rotate System adds 360° rotation within the grip, allowing precise alignment of bolt patterns, fixtures or curved sections without repositioning the crane.

Designed for most knuckle boom cranes and suitable prime movers, the PM1000 uses the machine's existing hydraulic and electrical systems. It handles poles, pipes and posts of various shapes and materials up to 455 kg (1,000 lb), supporting both direct burial and anchor-based installations.

Key features

Competitive advantages

  • Operation: Cranes and digger derricks require extra personnel for positioning poles. Other pole setters require additional manoeuvring for precision placement and indexing. PM1000 has one operator.
  • Productivity: PM1000 allows you to set more poles in less time with fewer people, creating productivity gains of 3x and greater over other pole-setting methods.
  • Safety: PM1000 eliminates workers and extra equipment in the vicinity of lifted poles. With hands-free total control of poles, it reduces risk to the travelling public during pole setting operations.
  • Labour cost: PM1000 takes fewer personnel to get the job done, allowing reallocation to other project budgets.
  • Load holding: Load holding valves on the PM1000 ensure that poles never drop, regardless of hydraulic pressure.
  • Load control: PM1000 offers 360° of rotational control. Straps and slings are free-swinging, and other pole setters are highly dependent on weather and skill of operator and ground crew.
  • Load placement: PM1000 offers total control of pole in all directions, which allows for fast, accurate pole placement without any ground assistance.
  • Total ownership cost and ROI: When factoring in productivity gains, increasing safety for personnel and the travelling public, project costs of equipment and labour, the PM1000 has a proven low cost of ownership and high ROI.
  • Pole damage risk: Slings and straps can break, dropping or swinging poles into objects, causing pole/equipment damage. PM1000 reduces damage risk with its total control and user-friendly design for consistent results.
